Webinar: The Future of Chemical Bracken Control
    https://www.brackencontrol.co.uk/information/meetings

A webinar is being organised to allow key parties and some guests an opportunity to discuss the issues surrounding the future of chemical control of bracken.  The intention is that other delegates will be allowed to listen to the discussion and provide written questions.

The latest version draft Bracken Control Review will provide a baseline for the discussion.  This will avoid the need to present information during the webinar that is already available .

Additional information about the webinar is available from the Information - Meetings page on the website. A link to register for the webinar is provided.

    Asulam Application Records

Thank you to all those who have provided me with details of where Asulam has been applied this season.

As the season draws to a close, please could I ask anyone who has used Asulam this year, but not yet submitted details, to send me the information. It is essential that I have accurate records to support the submission of the application for the use of Asulam for next year.

All the details required are set out on the Asulam page of the website with links to the different versions of the Records Form.

Scottish Project: Review of the use of herbicides in nature conservation

SAC Consulting is leading a project in Scotland, funded by NatureScot, that is looking at the use of herbicides for conservation land management. This includes a questionnaire-based survey of a wide range of practitioners involved with herbicide application on areas including: nature reserves and other designated sites such as SSSIs, but also as part of wider agri-environment management.
The questionnaire aims to gauge the range of chemicals used, the decision processes involved in their use and the consideration of alternative practices.
A follow up conversation with a small number of practitioners may also take place to provide more detail.
The final phase of the project aims to produce a decision support tool to help guide the use of herbicides for conservation management.
If using chemical control methods on bracken in Scotland, you might like to complete the survey at: https://bit.ly/3jVgSqT
