Bracken in the House of Lords

The Earl of Caithness used a short debate in the House of Lords about the Government's Strategy for Biodiversity and Conservation to raise his concerns about bracken.  The Hansard report is available here and the Earl's statement and question was at 4.31pm.

The Minister, Baroness Hayman of Ullock, responded to the questions at the end of the session, but the Hansard report stops just as she was about to refer to the bracken question - there was a power cut!  I have delayed releasing this News item in the hope that Hansard might be amended, but this has not happened.

The Bracken Control Group has been suggesting for some time that a national conference (or some sort of gathering) would be a good way to reset the approach to bracken now that Asulox is no longer available.  The support from the Earl of Caithness for this concept is very welcome.
